Guitarist and teacher Peter Leitch has been a staple in the New York City jazz scene for well over 35 years. The Montreal, Canada native has recorded and backed the likes of Oscar Peterson, Pepper Adams, Al Grey, and Bennie Wallace. Before making his waves here in the states, Peter was a heavyweight on the jazz scene in Toronto where he played with great Canadian greats like George McFetridge and Jim Galloway. In a career spanning 40 years, Peter just released his brand new autobiography "Off The Books" which chronicle his highs and lows of a jazz artist. He breaks down the Canadian and New York City jazz scene over the years and gives an insightful look at where jazz is going. In addition to the new book, he's also released his new CD "California Concert," recorded live in 1998 at California State College in Fresno, California with the late John Hicks and Billy Higgins. You can see Peter every Sunday night beginning at 8:00pm at Walker's in New York City.
