I first met these two fellow Carolina Beach residents at my beloved Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar. Nick had recently proposed to Jamie on one of the walkways to the beach. Although I might have thought that these beach lovers would have opted for a beach wedding, their love of art helped them decide to celebrate their wedding day at Wilmington’s Cameron Art Museum. I had had the pleasure of working with Charyl and the talented gals at Social Butterfly Events at previous weddings, and I had been especially impressed with their creativity at Kim & RJ’s bicycle themed wedding in 2012. Charyl and her gals took the raw canvas of Cameron Art Museum’s outdoor ceremony site and ballroom and transformed the spaces into a purple accented work of art. From the perfect flowers by Jeff and Design Perfection, to the gorgeous Chinese lanterns, to Charyl’s creative streamer exit as a solution to the Museum’s “no sparkler” rule, Jamie and Nick were absolutely thrilled with Charyl and all the magic she added to their day. I am continuously so impressed with Charyl and the gals at Social Butterfly Events! It was our first time working with local Photographer Theo Milo, and he was fun and easy going to work with. His kind and gentle spirit always seems to come through in his photography, and I know Jamie & Nick will cherish his beautiful, light infused photos. While photographers and wedding planners often spend a good bit of time with their couples prior to their ceremony, I always feel like I really get to know my couples as I film their wedding and then sit down to edit the day. I go through all the footage, sifting through the beautiful moments of the day, looking for the story that’s unique to each couple. The heart of the story often comes from the vows, exchanged letters or toasts. I’m certain I must have laughed along with everyone else when Nick said his funny, endearing vows to Jamie, but the day moved on so quickly as it always does, and that beautiful moment got lost among the rest of the magic of the day. That’s why it’s so much fun to stumble upon those gems in the editing room. The way Nick makes Jamie laugh and smile lets me know he will have her heart forever. I am so happy that they chose to have us there to capture all the magic on film, so that they can always go back to the heart of their love story. Huge thanks to Matt for helping me film their day! Cameron Art Museum: A Creative Legacy documents the museum's educational initiatives by looking closely at the museum’s field trip program, Kids@CAM , its child docent program, the Clay Studio, and a new outreach program. These opportunities introduce children to museum-quality art, enrich their artistic and cultural awareness, and encourage them to develop critical thinking skills. The film features interviews with Director Deborah Velders, Board of Trustees member Rhonda Bellamy, teacher Sulnora Spencer, and Curator of Education Georgia Mastroieni, among others.

Lillian Blades is a contributing artist for the exhibition Recollection: The Past Is Present. In this video she discusses her influences and the process involved in creating her art work. Recollection: The Past Is Present visually and thematically references the past while being rooted firmly in the present. This concept connects the art work of Amalia Amaki, Lillian Blades and Beverly Buchanan to the quilts made by African American women on loan from the Mississippi Museum of Art. This exhibition was organized by the Cameron Art Museum.
