John David Wright was born in 1918, served in the Marines in WW2 and died in 2011. A friend of mine, J Alan Kopley knew the family and they wanted it filmed. J Alan asked me to help him. He was the stationary camera operator on the tripod. I filmed all the moving and some stationary shots and I also chose the music and did the editing. This took place in Georgia's National Cemetery.

Here is a short film we shot a couple of months ago. This film was a zero budget film and a test for us filmmakers to see what we could produce without investing a dime. The problems started early, as you can imagine. What was supposed to be a six day shoot, got condensed into one. Well, people do have day jobs ya know... anyways... This put enormous stress on the crew right off the bat... but the show must go on. The biggest mistake, I think, was not getting a professional sound recordist to record the sound. So after letting it sit for so many months, I decided to cut out all the "unusable" audio scenes and try to piece together a story. So what you are actually seeing is only half of the original edit. The whole point of this was to learn, and that's exactly what we got out of it... so for the future, even if you ain't got a budget, invest in SOUND! No Sound, no movie, unless it's a silent film...

The day started out at 6am with perfect weather that eventually blossomed into a beautiful day for Jeremy and Michelle's wedding. Surrounded by their loving parents, siblings and other family members, it could not have been better and I absolutely enjoyed shooting it. Thank you Jeremy and Michelle for having me and my team over and I hope you both enjoy this as much as I did editing it. Congratulations again!
