Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands, is a great holiday destination with an excellent bus service which makes it easy to explore the island. The video shows some of the most famous attractions, i.e.: La Corbière lighthouse, Plémont Bay, St Brelade’s Bay, Havre des Pas, Green Island, Gorey with Mont Orgueil Castle, St Catherine’s Bay with the Red Tower, ducks (= amphibious vehicles) at Elizabeth Castle in St Helier (the capital), St Helier from Gallows Hill, an orangutan at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, some of the famous Jersey cows, St Saviour’s Parish Church, viewing platform at the Devil’s Hole, St Aubin’s Fort, St Aubin’s harbour, boats leaving Elizabeth marina, radar tower on the premises of BBC Jersey, a little stall with an honesty box where you can buy the famous Jersey Royals (= potatoes) and flowers etc., Reg’s Garden, Samarès Gardens, Bouley Bay, La Greve d’Azette (= the beach in front of the Samarès Coast Hotel and Apartments). The video was shot entirely on the iPhone 5s. The tilt-shift effect was added in post-production. The song is Löhstana David’s instrumental version of “Quand je serai grand” (from www.jamendo.com). P.S. Thank you to the Samarès Coast Hotel for publishing my video on the Facebook website of the Morvan Hotels (http://www.facebook.com/morvanhotelgroup) and on their general website (http://www.morvanhotels.com). P.P.S. And MANY thanks to Jersey Tourism for sharing this Vimeo link on their Facebook account as well (http://www.facebook.com/VisitJersey).

Photography, post-processing, movie editing and production: Phototoasty aka Chris Tostevin-Hall (http://www.phototoasty.com) Original musical score composition: Angus MacRae (http://www.angus-macrae.co.uk) Beautiful Guernsey has been my home for 17 years. Over the last six years I have, like many local photographers, photographed the island's beautiful and dramatic coastal scenery. Having seen several stunning examples of motion time-lapse film-making, I was inspired to create a short film to show how beautiful Guernsey really is. So, with a week off work at Easter I was determined to photograph and create enough time-lapse footage to complete the visual part of the project. I don't own a motion dolly so asked my friend Karl Taylor if I could borrow his for the week. Thanks Karl! The film's structure covers two days, dawn to dusk, showing dramatic sunrises and sunsets. I have tried to show as many different aspects of the island, the awakening of Guernsey's inshore fishing boats, sandy beaches, St Peter Port marinas, south coast cliffs, WWII occupation and historical monuments. Having completed the visuals, I needed some suitable music, ideally, an original composed score, by a Guernsey born composer...? I knew just such a person, the currently London-based Angus MacRae. I contacted Angus via email and he was instantly enthusiastic about the project. The score that he has composed is truly wonderful, perfectly conveying the mood of the film and building to a dramatic climax (You can get it here.. http://angusmacrae.bandcamp.com/track/beautiful-guernsey-ost) Technical Details: Camera: Canon 5D II Lenses: Canon 16-35 f/2.8L II, Canon 24mm f/1.4 L II Dolly: Dynamic Perception Stage-Zero Dolly Capture: Canon SRAW2 Post Processing: Apple Aperture 3.2 Time-lapse creation: Time Lapse Assembler V1.5.2 (Created by Dan Bridges) Movie Production: Apple iMovie 11

Short video I put together to show some of the stuff one may encounter while diving in California (Channel Islands and Monterey Bay). All footage was shot with a Canon 7d with a tokina 10-17 fisheye lens, inside of an Aquatica housing and 8" dome port. For fill lighting I was either using (2) Sola 1200's or (2) 2500's.
