A notoriously "soft" camera at 720p that isn't actually true 720p! How does it look? After some post sharpening I think it looks like most Canon 720p...average, not horrible. The NorthWest Civil War Council came to our area and re enacted battles from the Civil War this weekend. http://www.nwcwc.org/ Naturally I felt the need to go do some 60fps tests between the Mark III and the GH2. Marika was on the Mark III and I was on the GH2, so all of these shots were taken by her and then edited together by me. Filmed on the 5D Mark III with the Nikkor Ai-s 80-200mm lens. Edited in After Effects Color Grading in MB Looks Music by Luke Neumann - "Book for Eli". http://www.facebook.com/voiceofamountain The film focuses on life after a 36 year war in Guatemala. We follow a coffee farming community, Santa Anita, consisting of ex-combatants who now harvest organic coffee. Members of the community share their story, from decades of fighting in a civil war to the new challenges of peacefully harvesting coffee and bananas. The film will include members of the community talking about the circumstances that led them to fight against their government and what they hoped the war would accomplish. We would also like to use this film as a teaching tool within Guatemala. More than half the population in Guatemala today is uninformed about the 36 year civil war. We have learned that people living in the rural parts of the country simply don't know their history. Plans are already in motion to host screenings of the film throughout these areas in their native Mayan languages. The Mayan population is the majority in Guatemala and their education is crucial to the continuing development of the country as a whole. Dir. Tyler Rumph Writer/ Producer: Matt Robinson and Michael Field

No one can say it better than Ralph White (manager of the James River Park System): "Belle Isle is a little piece of history and nature on an island in the middle of the falls of Richmond. It encapsulates human history, natural history, aesthetic appreciation, and adventure recreation." This short film is an exploration of place and our connection to nature; it is a tribute to the beauty of the natural world within the boundaries of city life.
