Syrian president Bashar al-Assad is known to be a computer geek. He used to be chairman of the 'Syrian Computer Society' and opened up his country to the internet in 2001. In the face of the Arab Spring's general enthusiasm for online tools, Minecraft Mausoleum utilizes Minecraft - an online building game - as context and medium to present a model of a Mausoleum for president Bashar. Bashar al-Assad is a British-trained ophthalmologist and the eye doctor’s tumbling E eye chart is the alpha and omega of the Syrian IPO chapter. Does Dr. Bashar still dream about E charts and the course for Syria they might chart: left, right, up or down? -- His father Hafez and brother Basil are buried in a vast echoing mausoleum in the city of Qardaha. This M (“E down”) shaped mausoleum might be how Assad's Mausoleum will look like. Soundtrack: 'Song for Lenin' from the CD 'Best of Communism, selection of revolutionary songs. I created this song to voice my concern as a member of the global community. In light of recent events in the UK, Middle East and the global financial crisis, I felt compelled to create a video for this song. As I was editing this video I received an alert that there was a state of emergency enacted for Trinidad, my mother's home country, and on CNN there was LIVE coverage of the revolution happening in Libya. I found myself thinking... My people...we need to really wake up to what's happening around us. ...My people...we need to reset our moral compass and focus on what's really important ...My people...the future for our children is not a very bright one if we continue down this road of dumb down music, dumb down television, and dumb down education. ...My people...I could go on...and on...and on. ...My people, my people...my people....open your eyes and as my father would say...let's 'Pick sense out of non-sense'. ----------- Video directed by: Sean Mauricette, a.k.a. SUBLIMINAL co-directed by: Shawn Byfield Video shot by: Shawn Byfield (Toronto) & Yusuf Muhammad (Philly) Edited by: Sean Mauricette, a.k.a. SUBLIMINAL Song Produced by: Sean Mauricette, a.k.a. SUBLIMINAL & Kris Lamont a.k.a. K.L. ------------ Song is off the album 'TRAINATHOUGHT' available on all major download sites: iTunes, Napster, emusic, amazon, Rhapsody, CD Baby or can be ordered at any HMV across Canada.

Doris Ayala - a young Salvadoran woman describes and recounts a battle between Government military forces and the FLMN soldiers during the civil war in El Salvador. Many civilians were caught in the crossfire. Doris and her mother Dora barely survived this murderous battle. Many others did not survive. After this battle Doris started having nightmares. She dreams in colour. In her nightmares she is shot, drowned, stabbed, killed in one way or another. Her nightmares are about Armageddon. Doris was ten years when the battle took place. She was twenty-three when she recorded this interview. She did this without rehearsal and in one take only. Cameraman, editor - Lindsay Smith
