She is also exploring the life of his wife, the educator and writer, Anne Gilbert as this illuminates what life was like for people in Victoria, Australia in the immediate aftermath of the Gold Rush. Her research focuses on Anne's time based in Geelong after her marriage ended in the 1850s, and before she moved to Queensland to live with her son Frank .

      One of the biggest clashes that many people have is not left vs. right or Democrat vs. Republican. It is the Nationalist vs. The Compact View of the Union. Though many may not be familiar with the terms, many have already planted their flag in one of these camps when viewing America. The Nationalist's say that the Federal Government is supreme and the States have very little say in the American Political Arena. The Compact Theorists argue that not only do the states have a say, they are entitled to their sovereignty when dealing with issues concerning things within their domain and concerning their citizens. This fight has been raging since before the ink was even dry on the Constitution. So, what does history say?         Staff and volunteers of the historic Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Fla., fire a 6-pounder cannon on Aug. 4, 2012. The Castillo was built by the Spanish starting in 1672. It changed hands between the Spanish and the English several times before coming under American control.
