1. The Aberdeen Bestiary - Beasts at Hanover

    from Reading Bus Added 107 1 0

The pupils from P6 Hanover St. learned of Aberdeen University's Bestiary. A book of real and imaginary beasts. This inspired them to create their own mythical stories complete with morals. Supported by The Reading Bus, using literacy across the curiculum, they were able to compliment each story with an animated movie. Watch and learn!

    • Trip to Romania

      from Gavin Sauder Added 28 1 0

This video I shot and edited a few years ago, of my trip to Romania in 2009. I was very excited when found this video because this is the final export of the video and is the only thing I have left after an unfortunate event of a major hard drive failure. I think the video could have been done better but I don't think its too bad, for being done soon after I started into the industry of videography.

I decided to take another crack at the Occupy Seattle footage. I decided to focus more on the interviews and less on getting a POV style 2 day experience. Its a lot shorter and in my opinion, better. Enjoy!

DayStar Christian Centre in Lagos provided one of the brilliant highlights of my first Christmas back home in 27 years with the 2011 Christmas Carol Concert. This segment from the evening riddled me with goose bumps and tears of emotion. Listen to the Talking Drums as they roll in worship to the King of kings and Lord of lords. Proudly Yoruba.

                  • We Are Growing A Remix Economy

                    from Michael Garfield Added 58 0 0

http://michaelgarfield.blogspot.com MUSIC: "Expedition" Download it here for free: http://bit.ly/halcyondays TRANSCRIPT: To the extent that understanding something allows us to gain some psychological distance from it, to take a perspective on it and therefore embrace it more fully as a differentiated and included part of our selves, then I think it's wise to step out of the convergent crises of modernity for a moment and see them as a larger pattern of self-transcending evolutionary unfolding. Then we can understand that a more robust, diverse, stable, and lively planetary ecosystem is likely to emerge. Charles Eisenstein talks about how the unchecked exponential growth of our global planetary economy mirrors the unchecked growth of weeds in an empty lot -- but those weeds digest the concrete and prepare the soil for a secondary ecology to emerge. So what we have going on now, it seems like this apocalyptic event, but what is actually occurring is that we have woven the entire planet into this single rhizomal matrix of digital interconnections, and now we have an opportunity to mulch everything. This is what we're doing, and to some extent we have no control over it. Remix culture is taking over our lives. Recycling has moved from being a truck on the curb to being, in a few years, something where home 3D printing allows us to miniaturize industry and bring it into the house, where every ounce of waste is recycled back into extruded foods. This is the age in which nothing is new -- and this is exactly what we would expect from a mature ecology. http://therenaissanceproject.com http://hybridreality.me

                      from richard trombly Added 170 2 0

Episode 1 Beijing - Shilipu Neighborhood This episode explores inside a Beijing housing block beyond the famous traditional Hutongs that surround the Forbidden City. This neighborhood block was built during the days before China opened to the West and is filled with long-time residents. We briefly explore this community in the south east of Beijing. Come join Obscure Productions www.obscure-productions.com for China Backstreets. A light, subjective and not very documentary series that takes a look at some of the small places in China that you might not see on the mainstream media. This is just a rough and fun slice of life look at the real China many foreigners might not get a chance to see. Richard@trombly.com Production notes: This was shot on the consumer-friendly, but low-end pro Sony NEX-vg-10. It is a light portable and relatively cheap full HD camera with simple controls, adequate features and a really very nice built in stereo microphone.
