http://www.travelbasecamp.com/ In this second episode of Travel Basecamp in Punta Cana, the Basecampers head to a local elementary school to help spruse the place up by painting the school walls. Good thing they had a few helpers to get the job done and have some crazy fun with! McDowell County, situated in the coalfields of West Virginia, has experienced a great boom-and-bust since 1950. But despite the economic decline and population loss, many still call it home and feel a great sense of purpose among the mountains. Residents speak about their connection to this place and the meaning of "home." Featured as an Op-Doc for The New York Times. Hear more stories at www.hollowdocumentary.com

Description: After the huge attention and feedback I received for the video 'The Street Aesthetic of New York', I decided to continue the series and create a new video based on the very cultural and urban city Berlin. The Street Aesthetic of Berlin is the second video in the series, capturing the culture and everyday life of native Berliners. In this short-film I also tried to capture the special urban vibe Berlin have and visualize the aesthetic of Berlin's street corners, parks, buildings and structure. Title: The Street Aesthetic of Berlin Filmed and Edited by: Christian Andersen Shot with: Canon EOS 550D Music: Aphex Twins - Avril 14th Note: This video was only made for non-commercial reasons and to train my editing skills.

During a recent visit to Los Angeles, we stopped by the Aquarium of the Pacific after hearing about their interesting use of technology in the enrichment program for their Magellanic penguins. Experimenting with many objects to engage the naturally curious birds, aviculturist Sara Mandel found that the penguins took quite a liking to an iPad game she got for her cats. To Mandel's surprise, the little birds became obsessed and playing with the tablet is now a part of their daily enrichment routine—something that ultimately benefits the cute critters' mental and physical well-being.

So, we'll go no more a roving So late into the night, Though the heart be still as loving, And the moon be still as bright. For the sword outwears its sheath, And the soul wears out the breast, And the heart must pause to breathe, And love itself have rest. Though the night was made for loving, And the day returns too soon, Yet we'll go no more a roving By the light of the moon. -Lord Byron (George Gordon) 1788–1824 Narration read by Tom O'bedlam http://www.youtube.com/user/SpokenVerse/feed Music: Bless This Morning Year by Helios Most of these shots are originally shot in colour and can be seen in my other videos if you prefer to see them in colour. http://www.travelbasecamp.com In this episode, the basecampers visit a local boxing gym to learn from the best fighters in Cuba. The national team coach puts them through a rigorous training regime before throwing them into the ring. Sarah chose this activity because females are not allowed to box in Cuba, but there is one woman fighter at this gym, Namibia, who had never sparred with a woman until this day... Hacking the all-inclusive resort concept by treating the resort like a basecamp for your suitcase, but breaking beyond the gates to discover local culture. This is a “DIY” travel blog.
