Particle #2 strips back the visual facades of the city to reveal an immaterial web beneath. Urban imagery is abstracted through digital processing into an immersive experience that moves between recognisable urban landscapes and abstract, data-like patterns. Particle #2 alludes to the fragmented reality of everyday life, deconstructing the urban fabric to reveal a city that exists as much in an immaterial web of connections as it does in actual space. In today ís cities, new spaces have appeared along the places we know and live in: spaces of flows, webs of connections for communication, exchange and control that have come to transcend the limitations of actual physical space. In what is one of the main driving forces behind globalisation, traditional ideas of territory have almost been dissolved, while new centres of power are emerging at the nodal points that regulate the flows of global networks. The source material for Particle #2 is from a pool of video and sound collected across the globe for the D-Fuse film Endless Cities. Unlike the latter, Particle #2 is concerned with processes of abstraction. Both images and sounds have been broken into fragments and then reconfigured, in a parallel to the data flows that crisscross the urban fabric. The development of Particle #2 and Endless Cities has been supported by the British Council and onedotzero. Particle #2 is an audio-visual performance designed for multi-screen staging, with a variable duration of 45-60 minutes.

A collaboration between D-Fuse and Labmeta. Tektōn #3 is the latest in a series of experimentations with the processing of analogue imagery into architectural light structures. Originally developed in D-Fuse & Scanner's "Light Turned Down" performances, Mike Faulkner and Paul Mumford have been continuing the process while working with L'Usine, H17 and Swayzak.. The latest in the study is a one minute film produced with the German artist Hauschka and features densely packed formations of light.
