This clip is performed at Dance Theater workshop. It is a duet performed by Jim Kent and Allison Van Dyke Dance Theater Workshop presents a multi-disciplinary performance by Seattle-based artists Zoe Scofield and Juniper Shuey. The critically acclaimed the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t combines Scofield’s disciplined physical distortion of classical technique with Shuey’s distilled visual design to create a heightened sense of reality. Supported by Morgan Henderson’s hypnotic, original score incorporating live sound design by Kamran Sadeghi, and lighting by Jessica Trundy, the devil…. creates a world shaped by accumulating, external forces as the company delves into a haunting physical, sonic and visual space shaped by brutality and grace. Performed with local dancers from Barnard College, Scofield and company perform what The Stranger has called “a beastly ballet, both harrowing and gorgeous.” Brendan Killey, The Stranger The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t is conceived and constructed by Zoe Scofield and Juniper Shuey, with choreography by Scofield and set and video design by Shuey. The work is performed by Scofield, Christiana Axelsen, Jim Kent or Adele Nickel, Allison Van Dyck, Shannon Stewart and dance students from Barnard College.

          • Colorful tunnel at the Detroit airport

The Detroit Airport has a colorful light tunnel connecting the A concourse with B/C. It's actually a bit overwhelming at times, when the lights are flashing rapidly and the music blaring. This is a quick video from within that light tunnel. The video was captured with an HF100 set to full res, FXP, at 60i. It was quickly edited in Final Cut Express with some slight color correction. There's some audio clipping in the beginning -- I'm not sure why, but it's Final Cut's problem, not the camera (or mp3). Music is m83: Midnight Souls Still Remain

This... interesting... installation graces the halls of DTW. I always get excited when I go through it, because it is basically a psychotropic experience.

Yesterday I woke up extra early to pack my back-pack for the week... went to work at Epic FU for the day. And after 7pm took the 720 to Santa Monica, then the Rapid 3 to LAX, and a free shuttle to the Spirit terminal... I didn't sleep much at all on the overnight flight... and when the plane finally landed in Detroit it had been over two months since getting to hold Erica :P She was taping while waiting at baggage claim, and I was taping while coming down the escalator. We iz dorks :) Here's Erica's POV http://www.vimeo.com/2173308
