Kevin P. McAuliffe shows you how you easy is it to incorporate BCC and RED seamlessly into your Resolve workflow and create extruded text, extruded eps, lower thirds, title crawls, and more. Plus, discover how to create and save a preset in your NLE and open it in Resolve.

                from AndrewB / Added

Same video as previous (FujiSuperior200 LUT), taken into Premier for Denoiser II, sharpening, then H.264 FHD output. That whole process eliminated the noise issue, and some of the moire, but at too a cost of image sharpness. While PP is efficient, I will focus on using NR in Resolve (Full)...and shooting in 4K.

                • SF LUT Test 2: FujiSuperior200FC

                  from AndrewB / Added

A second LUT test from the SF footage. LUT=BMCCFujiSuperior200FC. A few take-aways from these tests toward the evolution of a shooting style: 1) Moire is unacceptable with the speedbooster, and problematic without it. Note the first shot. With sharp glass, the speedbooster creates moire incompatible with many subjects: bricks, trees, fabric. Even without speedbooster, rigging up some sort of OLPF is probably required, or spend a lot of time cleaning up in post. 2) Software stabilization is unacceptable. I like Resolve's stabilization better than Premiere's, but it still creates bizarre artifacts. The second shot is the only one with stabilization: static shot with no object movement to through off the tracker. Still, the odd bending and warping of the image was not acceptable. For the type of result I would like, camera supports will be required. 3) Color correction workflow that seems most intuitive to me: Step 1: For first/master shot Set up Resolve Node 1: adjust offset level only to put RGB parade bands in center, Node 2: Apply LUT, Node 3: Adjust Lift, Gamma, Gain. Step 2: Tweak Raw settings for first master shot with the 3 notes in place. Step 3: Apply Raw settings from master shot to all other shots Step 4: Set up Resolve Nodes 1,2,3 for all shots as done in Step 1. Step 5: Where needed, add additional nodes for power window-based adjustments 4) Color Noise in BMPCC is pretty heavy, even at 400 ASA and corrected gently. I have never been a fan of grain, going back to my large/medium format still photography days. Note that this footage has no NR applied to it. Resolve 11 full version NR would likely help. Better yet: shoot 4k and reduce to FHD.

                      What are Tags?

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
