Lang Dance Spring 2012 Performance Based on Choreography by: Trisha Brown Directed by: Carolyn Lucas, Cori Olinghouse, and Laurel Jenkins Tentindo in collaboration with students Lighting design by: Vincent Vigilante Music by: Miguel Frasconi, with writings recorded by students Performed by: Sophie Bromberg, Tony Carlson, Jasmine Cohen, Emily Deren, Alexandra Domianni, Claire Johannes, Maire McCrea, Jean McLocklin, Ella Misko, Elyse Mlot, Marissa Nigro, Deena Spaner, Brook Townsend, Cait Vogt Choreographer's Note: This performance uses Line Up (1976) as a choreographic frame to examine principles and choreographic forms from Trisha Brown's creative legacy (including: Set and Reset, Locus, Water Motor and Line Up, among others). Our process has been to conjure some of Brown's impulses and strategies from over the years as resources for the students to develop their own creative practices. What has emerged is a creative dialogue between the Trisha Brown Dance Company (TBDC Choreographic Assistant and former dancer Carolyn Lucas, TBDC Archivist and former dancer Cori Olinghouse and former TBDC dancer Laurel Tentindo) and students from Eugene Lang College. • On and Ever After (2011) - Juliette Mapp

Lang Dance Fall 2011 Performance On and Ever After Choreography by: Juliette Mapp Lighting design by: Joe Levasseur Music by: Dirty Projectors & Bjork, On and Ever Onward; Morton Feldman, Why Patterns? Performed by: Sophie Bromberg, Stormy Budwig, Jasmine Cohen, Emily Deren, Claire Johannes, Jessica Lynch, Jean McLocklin, Laura Scatena Romero, Kathryn Thomson, Brook Townsend Choreographer’s Note: Our rehearsals took place in the evenings following long days of classes. Often when I would show up to class the students would be resting or dancing to loud music (I first heard the song "On and Ever Onward" at one of these pre-class impromptu dances). On and Ever After is inspired by the energized body and the restful body that I witnessed before rehearsals began. Both struck me as expressive, necessary, and beautiful. The individuality of how those energies reside and manifest in each dancer is what moved me. – Juliette Mapp About Lang Dance: Situated in the Arts major at Eugene Lang College, the Dance program offers a unique undergraduate dance curriculum centered on recent developments in the field, combining intensive practice and performance opportunities with a rigorous liberal arts education.
