Although I was injured with a few broken vertebrae in my neck during this expedition it was awesome to live vicariously through the edit process! cheers, ~reo ---------------------------------------------------------- "In a lot of ways, this is the antithesis of the modern ski porn flick. A lot of rock star skiers and not much skiing! Ha! Well, hopefully having a narrative helps the piece along. It was a tough piece to put together with all the different characters. I decided to focus the story on Sage and Lucas and was hoping the piece would give people a sense of who those two characters are besides being rock star skiers/snowboarders. I often feel like the whole process of skiing and who the skiers actually are gets lost in most of the films today." ~jimmy chin ---------------------------------------------------------- Free-ride skier Sage Cattabriga-Alosa and big mountain snowboarder Lucas Debari step out of their elements and make an attempt to climb, ski and snowboard Denali. Sage and Lucas get a helping hand from a huge cast of seasoned and professional climbers and ski mountaineers from the North Face Athlete Team, including Hilaree O’Neill, Conrad Anker, Ingrid Backstrom, Jim Zellers, Emilio Previtali and Giulia Monego, as the two embark on the hardest expedition of their lives. ------------------------------------------------------------ a http://camp4collective production Director : Jimmy Chin Cinematographers : Jimmy Chin, Matt Irving, Adam Clark Editor: Renan Ozturk Motion Graphics: Barry Thompson, Eric Bucy, Marty Blumen Additional Media: Teton Gravity Research, Absinthe Films, Colby Coombs, Renan, Sage and Lucas Color: Anson Fogel Shot with the 5D and TM900 music in order of appearance: Philip Sheppard Song: Night Vision http://PhilipSheppard.com Yppah Song: Never Mess With Sunday http://Myspace.com/Yppah Sun Wukong Project Song: Clear Puzzles in Mjet http://TheSunWukong.com Ammoncontact Song: Like Waves Of The Sea http://NinjaTune.net/Artist/Ammoncontact Philip Sheppard Song: The Valley http://PhilipSheppard.com The Damn Sons Song: Who Wants More http://DamnSons.com CatacombKid Song: Digital Cliffs http://CatacombKid.com CatacombKid Song: Water http://CatacombKid.com Amon Tobin Song: Bloodstone http://AmonTobin.com Ape School My Intention (Yppah Remix Instrumental) http://NinjaTune.net/Artist/Ape-School Fink Song: Yesterday Was Hard On All Of Us http://FinkWorld.co.uk

    • WANDERMENT

Best Viewed in Full Screen (with scaling turned off) From meandering streams and forest-dwelling organisms to the grandeur of high mountains above tree-line, this short film wanders through the contrasting wilderness of Alaska, North Carolina, Georgia and California. WANDERMENT is the result of a 12-month collection of 4K time-lapse sequences captured while backpacking. Countless miles of hiking in the Appalachian Mountains and adventurous backpacking in California and Alaska provided no shortage of opportunity to capture the planet’s poetry in motion. Further juxtaposing these contrasting landscapes is the use of both color and black and white techniques throughout the film. Each time-lapse sequence, comprised of hundreds of still images, represents a chance to share these reflective moments far away from urban epicenters. It offers a simple reminder to step outside with your friends and family to experience and respect nature first-hand. Some of the most interesting cloud formations and movements I've seen. Just a few sample clips. Taken from 11k and 14k camps on Denali's West Buttress route in 2014. Our independent team reached the summit on June 4th. Denali's the highest peak in North America. More pics coming soon here: facebook.com/lukeallenhumphrey.com. from Blue Eden Added 4,087 72 3

Filmed over 2 weeks in Alaska's Denali National Park and the Inside Passage. The Mt. McKinley summit revealed itself on a lucky day - a massive white peak blanketed in clouds and snow. Rivers of ice curve around the surrounding peaks. Denali literally translates to "The High One" and is the highest peak in North America. Bears, moose, sheep, and caribou inhabit the base. Further South, I board a cruise-ship in Alaska's Inside Passage into Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier. Glacier Bay is a surprisingly remote area, only reachable by sea or air and encompassed in emerald green waters from glacial melt. Hubbard Glacier is the largest coastal glacier in North America, a massive block of ice awash in a foggy seascape. Shot on a Nikon D800, edited in Premiere and Panolapse. Subscribe for video updates! Had a chance to take a quick trip up to Alaska and see Denali. I also did a flight and glacier landing with Talkeetna Air Taxi that was truly incredible and one of the coolest things I've ever done. Pictures and video do not do justice to the massive scale of McKinley/Denali. I recently picked up a Sony A7s and wanted to try it out in more of a travel/snapshot sense, rather than carefully planned and executed shots. So, don't judge the A7s quality by these shots! Many are overexposed, underexposed, OOF, shaky, etc. I shot in PP5 instead of Slog2 for convenience mainly. I only used the cheap 28-70 kit lens for all these shots, as I haven't worked out my lens strategy for this camera yet. I didn't really spend any time on grading, other than to throw on some Filmconvert and a little contrast to the whole track. Music is M83 - Un Nouveau Soleil
