"PHANTOMS OF CHINATOWN" is a meditation on old and new, combining archival footage courtesy of the Prelinger Archives, and footage taken by me circa 2012. The film is also an experiment in using the Technicolor CineStyle profile, with LUT processing done in After Effects CS5. Listen to the companion compilation, PHANTOMS OF CHINATOWN: A MIXTAPE featuring music that inspired - and is inspired by - the video remix! You can listen to the half-hour long mix here: https://soundcloud.com/bazinian/phantoms-of-chinatown-mixtape "PHANTOMS OF CHINATOWN" is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/), and contains elements from the following works: Music: "Something (Intro)" by Action Davis (http://actiondavis.bandcamp.com/) Courtesy of Free Music Archive and Vimeo Music Store Footage: "Unidentified: New York City" (http://archive.org/details/0391_Unidentified_New_York_City) (http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/mark/1.0/) "Wonderful World (1959)" (http://archive.org/details/0731_Wonderful_World_19_01_23_00) (http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/mark/1.0/) "[California Color Film / Golden Gate International Exposition] (ca. 1939)" (http://archive.org/details/Californ1939) (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/publicdomain/) "[Amateur film: Summers collection: San Francisco, California, 1941] (Part I) (1941)" (http://archive.org/details/Summersc1941_2) (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/publicdomain/) "Third Avenue El" by Carson Davidson (http://archive.org/details/ThirdAve1950) (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/publicdomain/) "World At Your Call (1950)" (http://archive.org/details/WorldAtYourC) (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/publicdomain/) All archival films courtesy of the Prelinger Archives.
