Join us in helping support new families! Behind every child born with Down syndrome, there are parents – a mom and/or dad who experiences the unforgettable moment of hearing the diagnosis for the first time. The Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network exists to support these “Rockin’ Families” through that diagnosis experience and into early childhood. Our brand new Rockin’ Family Fund makes that support possible like never before. We’ve launched our first-ever Rockin Family Fund campaign to raise $10,000 to support our member families. This year we expect to welcome about 600 new parents into our Rockin’ Moms groups online. We are reaching about 10% of the families welcoming children with Down syndrome in the United States each year, and growing faster by the month. http://www.dsdiagnosisnetwork.org/#!rockin-family-fund/c23eg https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/0zD50/ab/34mCbd

This scene is a reveal in the backstory near the middle of the film. A catalyst that frames an unlikely pairing between an Austrian captain and Radek, a Czech boy with a developmental disability in the last days of WWII on the Eastern front. A partisan attack on the farm where the troops are taking shelter at sets off Radek's anxious behaviors during the firefight. Radek's mother is mortally wounded when the scene begins. Radek's fate in this conflict is now on an irreversible trajectory. ©MENSCHENTHEMOVIE2013 www.menschenthemovie.com

tells the story of the often hidden children of our times-students with learning disabilities. The film follows several junior and high school students with Autism, Down Syndrome, behavioral issues and other learning disabilities who collaborate with their dedicated art teacher, Mary Jo, to create artwork. The heart of the film lies with the students' art teacher, Mary Jo... who displays unwavering enthusiasm for her students and helps them gain self-confidence, because with art, there are never any mistakes. This was a rewarding experience for us as filmmakers... audiences formed powerful connections to the students in this film and their dedicated teachers. Those who see the documentary will be touched by its message: students with learning disabilities, who struggle so often through school and life, can achieve more growth than most people believe possible.
