"There is no shadow without light and no light without shadow, without light, there is no nature" - Light Nature Actually, I proposed my new movie dealing with something different than the Saxonian Switzerland but somehow I felt in love with that beautiful landscape and I'm not tired of it. Additionally spring in 2014 was amazing and offered beautiful days with great light settings. That's when I decided to put all my footage in a new movie. I hope you will get inspired with my home country and I invite you to experience it's beauty once again. Live through the moments I have been through and enjoy the beauty of nature with all it's colours and shapes. • A Breeze of Nature -- Germany --

"A breeze of nature" begins where my last film "light nature" stopped. It is supposed to show a deep and detailed impression of the natural beauty of Saxon Switzerland. Because too often we just see things superficial and miss or overlook the little details on the side. For this project I chose water as the main topic. Whether as fog, in clouds, or in light forms of rain that pours out over the countryside just to create creeks and rivers. Water in general is a fascinating medium which we come across day by day, in all kinds of ways. So in this project, we want to put a spotlight on water, as our main attraction. Why just a "breeze" you might ask. A breeze is not much. And in my opinion, it is only little parts of nature that you can see, smell and feel. Often less is more, so you will see things that you would not have found in nature or might have passed on your way through it. But a breeze can also be a lot. A lot of emotions, a lot of passion a lot of feelings and ideas. Let us overwhelm you with beautiful pictures of nature, together with extraordinary perspectives and camera rides through the beauty of Saxon Switzerland. Sit back, relax and enjoy an assimilation of atmospheric music and breathtaking pictures. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Time Lapse - Workshops and more on www.free-inspiration.com

          • TateShots: Don McCullin

Don McCullin is recognised as one of the most important war photographers. He has covered events of global significance, including the Vietnam and Biafran wars since the 1960s, on one occasion, his camera even stopped a bullet intended for him. Now a new exhibition at Tate Britain goes beyond images of war, to highlight McCullin’s wider photographic practice. In this interview for TateShots, McCullin talks candidly about some of the shaping moments in his career, including his first foreign assignment in divided Berlin in 1961; his documentary work on homelessness in East London in the late 60s; and the landscape photography, both urban, and rural that continues to absorb him.

Montage A kind of "layer cake" video, which isn't telling anything but is an audiovisual representation of a rather sweet taste - hence the title, i think - with some stuffings included (whatever that means). One of them which I have to mention is an excerpt of the Soviet documentary "Сталинград", a chronicle about the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942 and 1943. [source: http://www.archive.org/details/Stalingrad_851] It also presents lots of pictures of East Germany's plattenbau buildings from different decades, which I luckily rescued from a garbage container. (You may have seen parts of that special collection in some of my other recent videos.) It features some early photographical attempts of myself, mainly my first photographs of toy soldiers (in the snow). The soundtrack includes the playing of a piano roll, manufactured by the Æolian Company in NYC. It is titled: "When You Love, Love, Love" [source: http://www.archive.org/details/PianoRolls] Video/audio recording: Rollei da5324 Additional plate: Gimp 2.6.10 Video editing/processing: Avidemux 2.5.3, Pitivi 0.13.5, Windows Live Movie Maker Additional audio: Audacity 1.3.13-beta Audio editing/processing: Audacity 1.3.13-beta

"I think it was 1994 when I held the first video camera of my parents in my hands. Since that day I was infected by the idea of making movies. The first people I focused my camera on where my friends. I followed them through their life and their passions. The more professional I became the more I lost connection with them. This series is about reconnecting." René Eckert (Founder Blickinsfreie), January 2013 Dedicated is a series of short portraits about friends that I have met over the years. Their dedication constantly inspires me everyday. This series is a tribute to my friends. Episode 2 focuses on singer and song writer kleinstadtlicht. Kevin grew up in the same small town in East Germany as I did but the first time I heard of him was when I turned 32. To make it simple: Kevin lives for music, no matter what. Every second morning I wake up, I listen to his very emotional songs. Even though my breakfast doesn´t take long, I usually listen to the whole album. I love it. This is KLEINSTADTLICHT. Ethnographic documentary made along the removal of Palast der Republik, the parliament building of German Democratic Republic in Berlin. The film juxtaposes the state rhetoric which advocated the buildings' removal, to the experiences and opinions of people who have actually used it. You can watch an extended feature documentary film on the subject here: https://vimeo.com/34519706 ("Symbols in Transition". 2006, by A. Pitsios and C.
