Gecko's Adventures sent us to Cambodia to capture the first video in a series documenting what it's really like to be part of one of their incredible tours. They provide grassroots travel in small groups with amazing local guides like Fila, who invite you into their lives and give you an adventure that you just couldn't get with a guide book. Local guides, local transport, local experiences. www.Geckosadventures.com Music - 'Mix Tape' by Big Scary bigscary.net Licensed via gaga gaga.com.au/what-we-do

Made for the Vimeo weekend project - Stredit Music - Recording of Sleepy Owl from the LA Psych Fest For those who don't know what a Stredit is, "A Stredit — a "straight edit" of every clip on your camera in chronological order. No deleting clips! No altering the order!" All the footage in this video is from a weekend camping trip I did in Big Sur back in January. All the footage is from my 7D. Layed out in chronological order, cut down from 20 min of raw footage to little under 5 min to just the best moments. I noticed while editing that Stredits make you consider the whole experience of everything you shot instead of partial moments out of what you shot. It forced me to think about why I decided to shoot things, and seems to really bring out what my initial experience was at the time I was holding the camera looking for things to film. If you enjoy all the spinny camera movements, this video is where all of that went to, or was inspired by. https://vimeo.com/41165978 Thank you vimeo weekend project and especially Andrea (awesome project!) for providing this community and inspiring me to make videos that I wouldn't have other wise. Stredits are so awesome and so fun to make. I'm definitely gonna keep making these.

                00:54

                from Second Story / Added

For one night only, guests at the Portland TEDx after-party had a chance to interact with a floor-to-ceiling interactive sculpture that transformed body movement into new landscapes. Positioned at the center of a large art gallery, the installation embodied the spirit of the conference theme, “Uncharted Territory.” Topographic forms and kinetic shapes move along the vertical panorama of the sculpture and as guests approach, they become immersed in the flowing landscape. Depth-sensing cameras read human forms in real-time, creating topographic contours that pulse upwards along the 40-foot surface, literally projecting ourselves and our visions into uncharted territory. The theme of the conference holds a special resonance for Oregonians, and the physical form was designed to reflect and amplify the natural environment. Conceptually, the structure finds inspiration in the poetic juxtapositions of the Cascade Range, where angular volcanic rock formations meet the fluidity of the skies and rivers. The details of the structure appropriate the tools of exploration: sails, ropes, rucksacks, tents, traditional knots. As an integrated installation, we tried to design an experience that recreates the optimism of exploration and the hope one feels from constantly looking forward. http://secondstory.com/project/tedx2012

Over the Easter holiday UWE asked to take part in an activity that is a whole new experience and produce a 90 second motion piece that communicates our direct personal experience. I chose LARP (live action roleplay), as it is not something I would ever consider doing under normal circumstances. I was a little worried at first about joining a large group of new people, but they were turned out to be some of the friendliest and most welcoming people I have ever met. I was quite nervous of the weapons throughout, in particular some very long sticks that the 'monster crew' enjoyed waving around as they approached. Video footage captured by Stephanie Weise.

                      What are Tags?

                      Tags

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
