Endless September is a short film about archery hunting elk in Oregon and Idaho. With a finer focus on the experiences shared in the wild with friends than seeking trophy animals for sport, we head to the backcountry each September. Come along as we share a few highlights from over the years that we have been nothing short of fortunate to call memories. Pure Elevation Productions began as just a concept in January 2010. Started by Lenny Nelson and Steve Speck one night over beers at our local pub. We got to talking about how it would be a challenge to pack a video camera along with us on our backcountry hunts and try to capture all of the pain and effort that goes into hunting the backcountry. We wanted to share with you “the viewer” all the emotions; good and bad, all the pain and effort and most importantly, capture the experience of it all. We also realized that the term backcountry is used very loosely so we decided to look up the definition and though it fit perfect for our style of hunting. A backcountry area in general terms is a geographical region that is: • isolated • remote • undeveloped • difficult to access • not immediately accessible by street • at relatively high altitude • not frequented by human visitors • limited to human-powered visitors You’ll find the definition a re-occurring theme in our website, t-shirts and hats as it describes where and how we hunt perfectly. Not only do we want to bring you along the entire hunt, but to us hunting, as many others, is a year round sport. From mountain biking to stay in shape, shooting 3-D tournaments, studying maps of new country, obsessing about equipment and so on, not a day goes by during the year that hunting isn’t at the forefront of our minds. We want to include all of this into our videos, articles, and other features. Nothing is off limits. We want to capture the entire experience to share with those who share our passion. Our goal is to keep Pure Elevation all backcountry hunting with over the counter tags. If you want to see kill shot after kill shot, this isn’t the video for you. But, if you want to be a part of the roller coaster ride that is backcountry hunting, come along with us. The 2010 hunting season was more or less and experiment to see if we could even do it. With one camera, our bows and packs loaded with gear we took off not knowing what to expect. We ended up having a great September harvesting two nice bulls on video. We filmed the parts of the hunt that we wanted to see and that we thought would capture the essence of it. When all was said and done we didn’t really know what we had. It wasn’t until we gave the footage to our buddy, John Abernathey, of Idaho Media Solutions, to edit that we realized what we had accomplished was something pretty special. The response we have received from just the 4 minute trailer that we have has been remarkable! Sky's the limit from here...

THE NON-PROFESSIONALS “Armed with 10 days and a camera, Pahsimeroi[puh-sim-uh-roi] Pictures attempts to capture the non-professional enthusiast hunter in search of one of the largest mammals in North America, the Rocky Mountain Elk." Sifting through the sub alpine and alpine basins of central Idaho, the team prides themselves on the fair chase of hunting solely on public land. Pairing Team Old and Team Young, Pahsimeroi Pictures offers a mixture of wisdom and an aspect of slightly elevated levels of confidence needed to stay successful in the ever evolving field of the elk hunt. TEAM OLD Mike Crawford - given the nickname “Coug” due to an after dark duel with a mountain lion, Mike has been hunting elk for 40 years. A math teacher and coach in Enterprise, Oregon, Mike has made his annual trip to Idaho for the last 28 years out of 29 and has had the opportunity to shoot a bull every year. Marc Bales- Nicknamed “Griz” due to his bucket list dream of an Alaskan grizzly bear hunt, Marc filmed for a number of outdoor hunting programs in the late 1900s. Earning the honor of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's world champion elk bugler in 1989, Griz consistently surrounds himself with elk. TEAM YOUNG Will Bales - A college student in Eugene, Oregon, Will adds an element of youth to Pahsimeroi Pictures. Will is fascinated by the feast of the senses that he experiences on every elk hunt, the adrenaline rush that comes when he hears the bugle of the elk and the scent of the animal he catches when the wind is in his face. Grady Rawls - A graduate from Oregon State University, where he studied New Media Communications. Grady is an aspiring film maker who loves the outdoors and prides himself in professionalism. Grady's favorite aspect of film editing is getting the opportunity to bring the characters' personalities and experiences to life. One of his key goals while editing this film was to bring the story to the viewer like they were out in the field with the team.

"Endless September" Lets be honest... as much grit, work and effort as we put into hunting, in reality it's still a vacation. True that we may want, work, and strive our absolute hardest for success on any given hunt, but the fact remains that it's fundamentally an experience that we pursue for our own enjoyment. We are out hunting simply because we want to, and love to. The experiences shared and memories made in the field are priceless. However in addition, and I think just as important, is an awareness that we as sportsmen develop. It's our observations and time in the field that recognize an acute value in wildlife and habitat. The keen outdoorsmen fulfills a role of ambassador to all things natural. Sportsmen know and understand the pulse of the wild. Not for what we can take from it, but for what it gives to us, and is ours to respect and conserve. With the soapbox speech out of the way, I'd like to share a few "vacation" experiences that my buddies and I have been nothing short of fortunate to call memories. Great memories. The stuff that your best daydreams are not only made of, but the kind that may get you smacked in the head over a candle lit dinner! I invite you to come along and share in some of our greatest memories chasing elk through the wilds of an Endless September. -Bryan Huskey
