Our friend Sheldon Norton had a busy weekend making some pretty cool DIY dolly track for his RigWheels setup. He was groovy enough so share some of his ideas with us in this video. You can also use RigWheels on standard curved dolly track or flexible rubber track as well provided that it is at least 30mm in diamater. • Tabletop Dolly under $50

            00:44

            from Grit/Punky Added

Using a cheap skateboard and about $10 worth of hardware, I constructed this tabletop dolly. The best thing was that the only actual construction I had to do was drill one hole - no cutting, threading or welding. Depending on what type of plate you end up using (mine was a nice thick steel joining plate, already painted black), you may have to drill 3 holes. The good thing about using skateboard trucks is that you can tighten the bolts really tightly, but because of the rubbers, you can still turn the trucks by hand. There is some rough example footage at the end.

Here is a Quick Take on the Ultralight Control Systems Arm. This is one of the most stable accessory arms on the market. It has a very sturdy ball mount tie down and various size scaffolding to configure for any on camera situation. The one shown here has a Cardellini Clamp that will let you mount it almost anywhere to almost anything. It can be replaced with a hot shoe mout adapter for camera top use. This would actually cost a little less than the configuration shown. We picked up this one at www.filmtools.com for around $200. Dig it.
