        • Zak & Emily Wedding Trailer - Frog Pond B&B

          from Cullen Studio Added

A beautiful summer wedding in Skaneateles, NY at the Frog Pond B&B. The vows and speeches for this wedding were all so well written and elegantly stated that I wish I could have included them all! I couldn't bear to chop up Zak's vows though so his promise to Emily becomes the narrative for this short wedding film. Big Thanks to Kate Brown of Lovewell Design for helping make this day happen! http://lovewelldesign.com/ And also thanks to NYC / Denver photographer James Anderson for staging portraits and the first look! http://j-anderson.com/

Remember the February blizzard? (Or maybe you want to forget.) Nothing really special about this video, just some shots of the Blizzard and the aftermath. First minute of audio is from various TV News stations. Song title is "Filmic" (no copyright infringement intended). Video was shot with three different cameras but most of it was shot with the Canon 5D MarkII. The Boston Commons at night segment was shot with the 16-35mm 2.8 L lens.

In anticipation of our author talk with Eve LaPlante, we're exploring Boston with the Alcotts in mind! In this video, we discover how Louisa May Alcott became an abolitionist at a very young age. Special thanks to Andrew Olson of The Histrionic Academy/Remember America tours who provided us with wonderful historic tidbits (and is available for tours!)

Ice skating at Frog Pond on the Boston Common, a quintessential winter activity in the Hub. I shot this on a mild Saturday afternoon in January with my Nikon D5100. As you can see, the rink attracts a wide array of skaters.

1080 60p It was a little cloudy and in the ice skating parts, I was facing the sun which is not an ideal shooting situation but at least the camera didn't do that bad with the shot and it was on auto white balance. Most of the shots has a shutter of 60 since it wasn't that bright out. This was short of seeing how the auto white balance reacts to different conditions and I used just factory standard settings for the video. This was just some random scenes and then edited them together. Oh, this was smart rendered throughout except for the parts that has the logo. It's their because I'm using a free trial. I wish it wasn't but ah well.

I've been a bit busy since I got the AC90 and couldn't do any outdoor shooting until today. Unfortunately it was raining and so I decided to leave the house when it fully stopped but by the time I got to Boston, it was already getting very dark so I might as well turn this into a low light test. It was shot in 24p, shutter set to 24, white balance set to auto, picture mode was standard without any adjustments and gain set to 0 until the clip that you see at 2:01 in which the gain was very high. Basically gain is applied from that clip as well as the rest of the clips since not only was it getting slightly darker, I was also further from street lights. For regular shooting, it would have been best to have some gain in a lot of the first clips but I wanted to see how the detail is maintained by not using any gain. Yes the last clip might get you a little sick. When shooting in 24p and using a shutter of 24, as you can see, it helps with low light but it's best to not pan too quick and that clips shows you how bad it can get.

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
