    • Zak & Emily Wedding Trailer - Frog Pond B&B

      from Cullen Studio / Added

A beautiful summer wedding in Skaneateles, NY at the Frog Pond B&B. The vows and speeches for this wedding were all so well written and elegantly stated that I wish I could have included them all! I couldn't bear to chop up Zak's vows though so his promise to Emily becomes the narrative for this short wedding film. Big Thanks to Kate Brown of Lovewell Design for helping make this day happen! http://lovewelldesign.com/ And also thanks to NYC / Denver photographer James Anderson for staging portraits and the first look! http://j-anderson.com/

I took lots of photos and videos of the Common and Public Garden using the GH1 in its Intelligent Auto mode. I’m not happy about the way some of the shots turned out but at least a lot of them looks decent. Part one consists of scenes around the Common including Adults and kids splashing in the Frog Pond and a few people practicing their acrobatic moves. Part 2 has a few more scenes of the Common plus a lot of scenes of the Public Garden and unfortunately the swarm boats weren’t operational by the time I got there. At least I caught the people practicing their moves that you see in part one, so it wasn’t all that bad. The whole thing was recorded in the 1280x720 60p mode and edited using a free trial of Edius Neo 2. I exported it to H.264 at 1280x720 60p to preserve as much quality as possible. 1080 60p It was a little cloudy and in the ice skating parts, I was facing the sun which is not an ideal shooting situation but at least the camera didn't do that bad with the shot and it was on auto white balance. Most of the shots has a shutter of 60 since it wasn't that bright out. This was short of seeing how the auto white balance reacts to different conditions and I used just factory standard settings for the video. This was just some random scenes and then edited them together. Oh, this was smart rendered throughout except for the parts that has the logo. It's their because I'm using a free trial. I wish it wasn't but ah well.

It didn't seam that long ago that it was summer. This was originally shot in MJPEG and got converted to H.264 at around 8MBPS. Shutter 30 Aperture f/1.7 ISO 320 Auto focusing enabled I wanted to use ISO 100 badly but the lighting weren't that great unlike the previous video that I posted. Still, with an ISO of 320, you don't see much noise. All I had was the camera in my hands. It's not easy keeping it stable but I'm getting pretty good and the 20mm lens that I used doesn't have a stabilizer.

I've been a bit busy since I got the AC90 and couldn't do any outdoor shooting until today. Unfortunately it was raining and so I decided to leave the house when it fully stopped but by the time I got to Boston, it was already getting very dark so I might as well turn this into a low light test. It was shot in 24p, shutter set to 24, white balance set to auto, picture mode was standard without any adjustments and gain set to 0 until the clip that you see at 2:01 in which the gain was very high. Basically gain is applied from that clip as well as the rest of the clips since not only was it getting slightly darker, I was also further from street lights. For regular shooting, it would have been best to have some gain in a lot of the first clips but I wanted to see how the detail is maintained by not using any gain. Yes the last clip might get you a little sick. When shooting in 24p and using a shutter of 24, as you can see, it helps with low light but it's best to not pan too quick and that clips shows you how bad it can get.
