The film starts melancholy, but rapidly becomes upbeat in this psychedelic, warped video to describe how some of us feel, gay, straight, whoever has felt injustice or inequality and would like to see a less hateful world when it comes to difference.

Internationally acclaimed Turkish indy movie Zenne Dancer is inspired by the true characters and stories of Zenne Can and Ahmet Yildiz, who was murdered by his father in July 2008 in Istanbul. Zenne Dancer received 25 international awards and it has been nominated as the LGBT movie of the year 2012. Subtitles: Turkish, English, German Zenne Dancer is the contemporary story of three unlikely friends: AHMET, a hyper-masculine gay (bear); CAN, a male belly dancer (Zenne); and DANIEL, a German photo-journalist, who are confronted by a systemic, institutionalized and culturally embedded homophobia that leads to the tragic death of Ahmet at the hands of his own father. Through this dynamic friendship and the events that unfold around them, the film explores layers of intolerance along masculine & feminine, east & west, traditional & modern lines in Istanbul, a city that is itself geographically, culturally and historically at the very crossroads of those divides. My Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100009787626085 Many of you may already know about the recent gay discrimination bestowed by the Australian Prime Minister and his party, but some of you have been asking, 'Why would this carry on in such a modern country?' Not exactly a good example to set when many other governments in less advanced countries still find justification to penalise gay people politically or using barbaric methods. 70% of Aussie's believe that we deserve equal rights too, therefore, Mr Abbott perpetuates the dissension because of his own personal agenda. if you want to know more, please watch the film, and if you want to spread the anti-discrimination posts and petitions on y FB page, and send symbolic glitter to the coalition, please do friend me on the above link.
