• Three Lifes - Part I

                      02:15

                      from J.C. Geiger Added

This is part one of a larger project called "Three Lifes". The idea for this project evolved around the friendship of three former fellow students, which do now live in different parts of the world. Alejandra spends these days in Mexico, Johannes dwells in Germany and Mark lives in England, where their paths crossed originally. Naturally, from birth on each of them has been part of a different culture. However, their views on the subject of their own culture and perceptions changed when they got know each other. These videos attempt to explore the similarities and differences between their cultures and perceptions. Whereas this may sound difficult and complex, the concept in creating them is simple. Each of the three friends is asked to film several short sequences, which depict a personal impression of her or his homeland. These short sequences are put one after each other in an arbitrary fashion without effects or transitions. Another friend comments on these images using a personal memory or story. Music or other sound effects can be added. It only depends on the question whether or not it helps to create the desired effect. The result is a series of very modest, but genuine audio-visual testimonies of our time. Enjoy. Three Lifes - Part I Voice - Mark Allen Video & Music - Johannes C. Geiger © 2015
