The second promotional video for Chinese Spring Festival Gala, 2015, DC. This is an emotional documentary about the feelings of Chinese students in DC: how they came here along and got all together. We planed this topic to illustrate the meaning of the gala and Spring Festival - to get people together. The footage was shot in two days and editing was finished in one day. My regret about this video is that I should direct a little bit more - the talking styles of two characters are so different that I can not blend their talks more. Camera, Editor. Adobe Premiere CC.

    • What is Chinese Spring Festival?

The first promotional video for Chinese Spring Festival Gala, 2015, DC. This video is made to show the general idea of Chinese Spring Festival and arouse the question: what should the real spring festival look like (instead of just red and dragon). The footage was shot in one afternoon and editing is finished in the evening. I'm happy with the editing which created a relaxing mood, but some footage is definitely not in a good frame. Camera, editor. Adobe Premiere CC, AfterEffect CC.

A conversation between the Georgetown University Energy Prize Executive Director, Francis Slakey, and Project Director Christofer Nelson about the kick-off of this first-of-its-kind national competition for community energy efficiency. The Georgetown University Energy Prize aims to rethink America’s energy use by harnessing the ingenuity and community spirit of towns and cities all across America. Over the course of a two-year period, the Prize will challenge small- to medium-size towns, cities, and counties to rethink their energy use, and implement creative strategies to increase efficiency. To compete for the Prize, local governments, residents, utilities, and others will need to work together to demonstrate success in sustainably reducing energy consumption. Devon McCann, a member of the class of 2016 at Georgetown University, shares what it's like to be in ROTC at Georgetown University. This includes everything from her daily routine with class and training to the parts that she is not allowed to share like sexual assault. It's easy to make everything seem OK but sometimes there is more to the army than people are allowed to tell you when you first sit down with them. A huge thanks to Devon for participating and being as open about the program as she can be. And another thank you to Lauren Saar for making this film with me.
