However, women and girls are not a homogenous or ―special interest‖ group. In addition to facing threats like domestic violence and rape, they often lack access to crucial resources like education, health care, money, and property. These diverse challenges compete for the attention of funders as they grapple with how to make the greatest impact. As the corporate and philanthropic sectors are changing to meet the needs of women and girls, new trends are emerging—from cross-sector partnerships, to giving circles, to pooled funds for aligned impact. In this session, leaders from the philanthropic and corporate sectors will share their insights on how women are changing philanthropy and highlight trends for investments in women and girls as changemakers.
