Every word to "Magnolia" (188) was handmade using cardboard (discarded from grocery stores), hot glue guns, and paint pens. Random people at over 65+ locations and a handful of friends were used as rappers throughout the video. The video was done completely practical (no CGI) and wound up costing a little under $80. *2012 ARTE Creative Music Video Award *2013 SXSW Official Selection [Music Video Competition] *2013 Sprockets Official Selection *2013 Winner UKMVA [Best Urban Budget] Official Promo for "Magnolia" by Lushlife ALBUM: Plateau Vision LABEL: Western Vinyl [WWW.WESTERNVINYL.COM] CREATED BY: Nik Harper and Jesse Lamar High DIRECTED BY: LAMAR+NIK PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS: Spenser Sakurai and Michael Raiden PURCHASE: http://westernvinyl.com/catalog/WV97.html PHOTOGRAPHY: Scott Sullivan [WWW.FLICKR.COM/PEOPLE/SCOTT_SULLIVAN/] Spenser Sakurai [WWW.IMAGESAKPRODUCTIONS.COM] Michael Raiden [WWW.MICHAELRAIDEN.COM] PHOTOS: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lamarplusnik/sets/72157631788294558/ MAKING OF: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeYAAEXoQYJitNXW-hanSkL7Z0J3uL9RT [WWW.THEYOUNGANDINLOVE.COM] [WWW.LAMARPLUSNIK.COM] [WWW.TWITTER.COM/LAMARPLUSNIK] [WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/LAMARPLUSNIK]

Aaaaaahhhh the things that bind the ephemeral community together. Well one of them might be a series of screenings at Monkeytown. Last night was the first. We all had fun (too much fun?) and then a beautiful woman glued herself to her purse.... It seems the Levee is always a place for strange disasters. http://www.vimeo.com/1789132

I'm not sure if they are hamster's or frog's but they love playing pile on and are made of some kind of latex type substance. A little bit of fun trying out Claude Vervoort's new Glue compound to mesh a Lagoa simulation. Softimage Thea Render

connectors are procedurally created, linked, activated or removed. connectors exist only "virtually", they don't appear in the object manager. the first frames take some time, but when all connectors are placed the simulation speeds up. based on collisions. possible to break the connectors. working with cloners, objects & particles. still has some issues / priority problems (surprise surprise... :/ ) but actually working very well :) thx @ nophoto for his python wall generator

A couple of people have asked me how I get the wide-angle interior car shots in some of my videos. Here's a very quickly thrown together (and admittedly very long) video that shows you really how simple it is to modify your Flip Ultra HD or Flip Mino HD with some off the shelf camcorder accessories and some super glue. Filmed on a Sony Webbie MHS-CM1 (Note: This will probably void your warranty if you do it to your camera - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!)

Saw this video by Dalibor Cee the other day: http://vimeo.com/18745006 and gave it a shot. 1h later i got this... The fume pass is blobby admittedly. That's because the grid is like 100x100x25 lol, it's all done on my notebook while the big machines were humming along (dual core, 4gig ram). Texturing all done in comp with UV and Normal render elements. Main element is AO only. Box#2 glue bindings breaking by overstretch and force.

Decay System. Preset for future use. Step#1 Prefracture with Rayfire (here "Voronoi Wood Splinters") Step#2 Animate procedural or texture map for triggering Step#3 add fragments into your birth group Triggering is done by a radial gradient with noise. A DataTest checks for grayscale value and if high enough triggered falling and PhysXGlue binding to the static event. This gluing gives a nice feel or contained material to it. The Glue breaks by force and torque as well. Secondary debris is just emitting of a plane inside the wood log and is triggered by the very same Maps. Had that one sitting around a while. Made a purdy preview for once... Should work for ashing pretty good as well.

And the baked and rendered version of hurricane cabin. I re-did the siding boards entirely and fractured them with more detail (RayFire WoodSplinter fragmentation type). It still contains pretty good actually and runs stable, the secret is in the weld threshold of the physx shape! Everything was baked out with PFlowBaker and THEN detailed! The wall fragments were quadified and the crack edges got a noise treatment. Simulating with the jagged edges would have probably caused physxplosion. FumeFX and Debris emits from crack edges that have a different material ID. Emission is triggered from speed when the board start to move significantly with a speed test to pass them from a locked on emitter state to loose/force influence. For the fumefx emission i just used the PFlowAB operator to only emit from the event that passed the speed test. no violent movement > no fume or splinters. No couch this time, i got lazy shading the interior.....Rendered with VRay and 3d mblur. Little less then a days work with the setup i had in place.
