This blog by the Conservation team working on the Staffordshire Hoard focuses how they have been able to examine some Hoard pieces in a new way thanks to the loan of a digital 3D microscope from Keyence. This is the first attempt at making a video blog by the conservation team at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. It is in 2 parts. It features Deborah Cane (project manager), Dr David Symons (BMAG curator), Deborah Magnoler (conservator) and others from the conservation team and from the British Museum. This video blog features a nice discovery about the cheek piece belonging to the Staffordshire Hoard. The aim of video blogging is to keep the public up to date with the ongoing conservation work on the Hoard. We're still learning as we go along so apologies for the fact that the sound is sometimes a little too quiet and the editing could be improved, etc! To keep up to date with news about the Hoard visit the Staffordshire Hoard website: staffordshirehoard.org.uk
