We had been looking forward to this day for a while. Shooting at the Henry Ford Museum, a carriage ride through Greenfield Village, getting ready at the Dearborn Inn's Edgar Allan Poe House... this would be a beautiful day of footage. We were also looking forward to finally getting a chance to meet Deborah + Ken face-to-face. We shoot weddings outside of our "local market" often, so while we will Skype/ Facetime our way through through most of what we need to (to get ready for the day), getting to shake actual hands and hug actual people will, at times, have to wait till the day of the wedding. This was one of those days... and it was SO wonderful to be there and be a part of the vibe, energy, and love that was present. The day had an interesting factor that the family banded together to work through: Deborah's dad [who at one point and time in his life was a pilot who flew C-10's just the like the plane hanging above the dance floor at the museum] was hospitalized a few weeks before and was moved into the ICU just days before the wedding. This obviously meant that he could not attend/ walk her down the isle/ dance her first dance. Regardless of his physical absence, his presence was felt. My favorite "thumb-in-the-nose" of sickness was his Skyping into the ceremony on an iPad. He got to see her standing next to her future husband, wave to her, and still be a part of it all. Thank you technology. So cool. We were also SO excited to shoot again with another husband and wife team Lynell & Dan Miller. These two are SO special to us. It is a real blessing when you get to work with other professionals that are also genuine friends. Their work is AMAZING, crisp, whimsical, and simple... and we (as teams) go together like "malted hops & barley." :) Check them out at http://lizziephoto.com/ Vendors for the day included: • Event Planner –Rebecca Lewis 248-379-2126 • Officiant –Frederick Page 313-561-7203 • Makeup Artist – Katie O’Brien 248-565-6487 • Hair Stylist – Jeanine Whitman 248-565-6487 • Florist – Ship to Shore- Tanya 586-447-0876 • Caterer – The Henry Ford Museum 313-982-6220 • Cake Artist – Millitellos (Gasper) 586-254-9700 • DJ – Daryl Scott from Memory Makers 248-619-1790 • Musicians – La Corda Ensemble String Quartet 734-459-5296 • Photographer – Lizzie Photo- Lynell Miller 616-241-2795 • Photobooth – Shutterbooth- Brian Godwin 248-545-6460 x102 • Dearborn Inn 313-271-2700
