London Java News This is one (night) for the boys. First up is Grinder Girls complete with red/purple wigs so that she doesn't get recognised or pestered after the gig. Ok she has a figure and did a good take on 1980's Madonna, conical boobs, i.e. fashioned by the icon, Paul Gaultier etc etc. In other hands she caused a sensations with most of the Java "Boyz" who did attend, such that some near me started hollering expletives and such words that caused me to go for the audio mute button during the video editing process! Second we had some fun on what Americans called the "bleechers" or us Brit call it the stand. We had a fun time watching Sub-Zero, the lithe and agile robot blast and fight its way to the robot champion. In Battle Bots, not to be confused with the BBC's Robot Wars program from several years, we had a glimpse of the American style robots being tremendously destructive. And yes Sub Zero can flip you, your robot and any other competitor like a McDonald hamburger onto the ceiling, and it will stay there stuck to it. This was the real McCoy, because it happened so fast and furious that if we had blinked we would have missed it! At 2:12 we have a roll call of Java Champions. This was footage capturing the big projector screen outside of the exhibition pavillion. (Sadly I did not get a slidedeck on it for 2007) Finally Grinder Girl finishes the set. Enjoy! :-D +------------------------------------------------+ Produced by Peter A. Grinders are a universal tool on industrial maintenance and construction projects. However, they can often be misused or simply the wrong tool for the job. Take the time to get the right tool, and if that tool is a grinder, follow these recommendations to use a grinder safely. McCarl's, Metabo and TAUC have partnered up to create this video to address grinder tool safety. Be sure you select the proper tool, know the surface you are going to work on, as well as your surroundings and wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). As skilled professionals, put these tips to use on the job every day to help ensure you go home safely at the end of each shift.
