Twente Biënnale - 24-05-2013 - Darth Vader hot air balloon. First time practicing with the Sony PMW-200. Due to the bright sunlight the lcd and evf was quite unusable. I couldn't even see if shots were in focus. First shots seems to be out focus, I pushed the iris too close resulting: lens diffraction. Later on I used an 1/2 ND-filter (with f-stop 1.9 - 2.8) All settings and operating: manual. No grading. No use of tri- or monopod. "Mastering Sony's PMW-200, 160, 150, 100 XDCAM Cameras” training DVD is the quickest way to learn both the fundamentals and advanced features of the new HD422 camcorders and their state-of-the-art tapeless XDCAM workflow. http://www.vortexmedia.com/DVD_PMW200.html Note to PMW-300 owners: Sony released the PMW-300 a few months after the other cameras and so it is not addressed directly in this training video. However, because the 300 is so similar to the other camcorders we will NOT be producing a new training video just for the 300. So, if you want to master your PMW-300, we recommend that you get the PMW-200 video and the minor differences between the cameras should be easy to figure out on your own. Thank you. This is not a superficial review of the camcorders nor a quick look at the various functions. This training video not only tells you "what" a feature does, it also tells you "why", "when", and "how" to use it. This is as close to a one-on-one training session as you can get without actually hiring Doug Jensen for personal instruction. How much is your time worth? For a small investment you get to tap into a wealth of knowledge that would normally take many days to acquire on your own . . . assuming that you ever discovered some of the tips and functions covered in this training DVD. "Mastering Sony's PMW-200, 160, 150, 100 XDCAM Cameras” includes tutorials, step-by-step examples, and detailed instructions covering the most important aspects of camera setup, menus, shooting techniques, choosing a video format, clip naming, file management, clip importing, Picture Profiles, time-code, programming the assign buttons, customizing the viewfinder display, freeze-mix, white balance, multi-matrix, proper use of Zebras, jam-syncing, focus assist functions, shutter speed, gain, time-lapse, slow-motion, camera data files, best practices for importing and archiving footage, and much more.
