About the speaker: Scott Turn, HNEI Dr. Scott Turn is a Researcher on the faculty of the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute at the University of Hawaii. Over the past 15 years, his research has focused on biomass resources in Hawaii and their utilization. This work has been supported by both the public and private sectors. Recent efforts included heading the team developing the bioenergy master plan for the State of Hawaii. He is currently the UH site director for the Center for Bioenergy Research & Development, part of the National Science Foundation’s Industry/University Cooperative Research Center program Seminar Abstract: This seminar will present an overview of biomass/bioenergy related research including resource assessments, fuel pretreatment, and conversion relevant to Hawaii.
