JCrete is an annual invitation-only Java Unconference held on the Island of Crete, where some of the top Java personalities get together to talk about Java in an Open Spaces format. Besides formal sessions, we also spend time on the beach, go hiking and enjoy delicious Cretan food. There is no conference fee, but we all cover our own expenses and the rather small facility fee of the venue. This year we did JCrete at the Orthodox Academy of Crete, which has some of the nicest views of any conference venue in the world. The purpose of the event is as a think tank for all things Java.
