To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Benjamin Britten's birth in 2013, mezzo soprano Sarah Connolly performs "Oh Gods of Wrath" from 'Phaedra', his dramatic cantata for mezzo-soprano and small orchestra, op. 93. The text was compiled by the composer from Robert Lowell's translation of "Phèdre" by Racine. This cantata was premiered at the Aldeburgh Festival in 1976, less than six months before the composer's death. Sarah Connolly performed Phaedre in Hippolyte et Aricie in Glyndebourne's first ever Rameau staging at the 2013 Glyndebourne Festival.
