From Enmity to Amity. Colossians 1:20. July 10, 2011. In a continuation of our study of the sufficiency of Christ, we learn more about the implications of "in all things" with the Doctrine of Reconciliation. But what does reconciliation really mean? And why was it necessary at the cross? This doctrine is so often confusing, misrepresented, and misstated. There is no sense of it in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, Paul is the only author who addresses it. View this lesson and find out what it really means for a Christian to be "at peace with God". www.deanbible.org

*Note: There was some corruption in the original recording; therefore, you will note an artifact which is especially present during quick hand gestures. Low Quality Pearl Haters Righteousness and Sinners Part 3 Matthew 7:6 March 27, 2011 Summary: The two key ingredients for being able to help your brother are love and humility. Removing the log from your eye helps with the latter. But if they trample the truth underfoot and become hostile, walk away because it is mercy for them, God hates quarrelling, and other people are open to your influence; but mostly because the Gospel is holy and should not be dishonored. The Gospel is for the receptive only. But do not over-apply this.

http://www.gty.org/resources/sermons/90-390 Now, we are coming tonight to the twelfth chapter of Hebrews, but it's really a section of Scripture that I think belongs at the end of the eleventh chapter. We have gone through the eleventh chapter and we have seen this immense attempt to show that salvation comes by faith and faith alone, and that those who are God's walk by faith as well. It is both the faith of the sinner that initiates salvation and the faith of the saint that marks his ongoing sanctification. As we come to the three verses, we'll just look at the three verses, maybe comment on the others subsequent to that in a minute. But for tonight, I want you to look at verses 1 through 3 of chapter 12. "Therefore" of course, ties this in with what has been previously written. "Therefore since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter, or finisher of faith who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."...

http://www.gty.org/resources/sermons/43-55 Turn to the tenth chapter of the gospel of John. John chapter 10. It’s very interesting to be going through the Book of John in the morning and Acts at night because in the account of the early chapters of Acts, Peter is the preacher. And with the gospel of John, John is the writer. And of course, they were buddies. They are together in the early chapters of Acts, so it’s a special treat to be hearing from John as he finally gets to say something many, many, many years after Peter preached on Pentecost, and how parallel the writing of John concerning the person of Christ and the preaching of Peter concerning the person of Christ are. So we’re sort of doubling down on Peter and John in these days, and presenting the glories of the Savior that they loved and proclaimed....
