1. The Secret Handshake Interviews - Alison Yard Medland

from Bright Bright Great / Added

Designing and sending your résumé is a tedious process. What do you write about yourself? How do you style it? Alison Yard Medland’s advice is to keep your résumé simple. Don’t go overboard with lengthy explanations or flashy design. Be concise. Consider the information about you that’s the most valuable to the person reading it. When it comes to sending the résumé, keep it casual. Don’t be too pushy about asking for an interview right off the bat. Warm up by asking the person to look it over, and suggest that if they have questions you can get together for coffee. Be clear. Be casual. Good luck, interviewees! PopUp is a calendar app that looks at your appointments and draws attention to hidden opportunities for joy that you may not have noticed. It might point out that you’re meeting someone you’ve never met before, or getting together with a friend you haven’t seen in a long time. It might let you know about a joyful piece of street art near your lunch date or the meteor shower that’s scheduled to happen at bedtime. The wellbeing of communities depends on the wellbeing of their members – and financial stability is at the core of our potential to thrive. Yet all too often, individuals and families aren’t connected with the basic financial services, educational resources and dedicated support they need to make choices that will lead to healthier lives and stronger communities. In our Financial Empowerment Challenge, sponsored by the 3,500 credit unions that form CO-OP Financial Services, and MasterCard, we’ll explore how we might harness the inherent power of our communities to ensure everyone has access to the knowledge and resources that lead to better financial futures.
