    “Who runs the television has the power” - sounds the famous quote. "Guidance" is a recording of a meeting between Mr. K - candidate for president, and his personal trainer. They are discussing strategy for the upcoming debate with former president -Mr. W. The trainer guides Mr.K through mysteries of body language and specific ways of talking, so they are coherent with the image that they have already created. Some of the instructions are designed to reveal rival's weaknesses. Presented fragments of the meeting question things, that we think we know - especially in the political context. What is real and what is fake in media? How much pretending and marketing tools there is, and how much honesty? Are the communication tools used only to manipulate?

        This analysis by reenactment of Polish Presidential Debate from 1995 will try to disclosure how image creation can build politicians and contribute to their loss. It was the first fully democratic debate in Poland, where one of the candidates - Mr.K, hired an image advisor for a first time in history. His election campaign and the debate itself set a certain standards in the Polish political marketing – taking American and West European experiences into Polish practice. The analysis will show how well prepared Mr. K was, and how quickly he could take advantage of his rival's weak points. He performed several tactic moves, that he has learnt from his advisor. The struggle for Polish presidency in 1995, proved that the use of political marketing in the campaign, can not only contribute to the victory, but also affect the growth of interest in the election itself. It also showed that knowledge and techniques is one thing, and the ability to use them is another. Lack of those skills can be as painful as lost election.
