Mark Willacy is an investigative reporter with the ABC and is based in Brisbane, Australia. Mark is a former foreign correspondent for the ABC in the Middle East, Iraq and Japan. He covered the Japanese tsunami and Fukushima meltdown and is the author of the book, Fukushima. Here Mark Willacy draws on his foreign correspondent experience to give advice on cross-cultural interviewing techniques. Mark Willacy has twice won Australia's premier journalism prize - the Walkley Award. In 2003, he won it for his coverage of the Iraq War. He was awarded his second Walkley in 2011 for his reporting on the Japan tsunami and nuclear meltdowns at Fukushima. Mark has been nominated for Walkley Awards on eight other occasions.
