It will frustrate you or amaze you, they told me, and maybe both at the same time. I can only say India changed me. Even now, when I put on the clothes that I had worn in India, I am reminded of my remarkable experience, something about the place that seems true for me - in the food, in the faces, in the colours, in the light and the shadow; a wisdom that's just out of my reach. It seems odd that I recall the soulful impression more through clothes than in my images. I love my images of India, yet the wisdom I long for belongs to the place and the experience. The images I feel are just about themselves, line and shape and colour. The photos show me the place, but they're  photos. I think you have to go to India to know anything about India. The images represent power in the crumbling, sensual palaces of the Maharajas; represent a deeper knowing in the winter mists and lost horizons; represent heart-felt human emotion in the various human faces; represent our shared human journey traversing the cycle of life ... and the Ganges leads to Veranasi where the dead are given back to the river. We die in the way we have lived. And we die alone. The Ganges passes by Veranasi on its way, and picks up the dead. A bird escapes from the tree of life. I believe you have to travel to India to know anything about India. You may need to go. It could well change you. There is that chance.

Egypt... there is so much to say and yet so little. Egypt is a place of minimalism in places like the white desert where you are surrounded by sand dunes and white rock. And then at the same time, Egypt's history is one of the most complex, long and fabled history in the world. I was lucky enough to visit in September 2014 for 2 weeks, visiting the famous ruins such as the Pyramids and the Valley of the Kings, while also taking in some lesser known sights like Siwa Oasis. I collected a compilation of my favorite shots along with reflections from my fellow travelers into a short video capturing out trip!

Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea. Nestled in the heart of the Middle East, Jordan is a safe and exciting stop for a traveler visiting the region. Traveling with Intrepid Travel, I took a 9 day tour of Jordan in the fall of 2014, learning so much about the culture, history and politics of this amazing country. Featured in the video are my fellow travelers as well as beautiful shots of the desert, ancient ruins and sunsets.

Our last film from our real food world tour takes us to a family farm in Northern Ethiopia where they grow mostly Teff - the grain used to make Injera. We thought it fitting to end on a story about subsistence and the happiness that comes from having enough. Unlike most coffee growing regions of the world, in Ethiopia the folks who grow the coffee, also drink the product. Long considered the birthplace of the beverage, Ethiopia produces some of the best. This little film is a love song to coffee, the grueling work that goes into producing it and the importance of small farms and cooperation in that process.
