"Prepping for Frescomania" is a short film we shot to complement Javier Manrique's "Artist-in-Residence" at the deYoung museum in San Francisco. The film will screen continuously throughout the entire length of the exhibit. Exhibit runs 10/31/12 through 12/2/12. My production company, Dangerbag Productions, produced the film pro-bono to show our support of Javier Manrique and the deYoung. If you are in the San Francisco area, we encourage you to visit the exhibit. Special thanks to the deYoung Museum, Javier Manrique, Project Artaud, and my awesome crew and support team: Rachel Kellem, Matt Bage, Joshua Fryou, Jeff Tuyay, Juan Ramirez, Julio Rodriguez, James Maloney, Steven Levinson and Caitlin Manning.

During the era revealed in the special exhibition Impressionist Paris: City of Light, photography was making an impact on the way images were being reproduced and seen. Displaced as the industry standard for reproductive purposes, printmaking was then freed up to find a new place as an art form. Photographer and printmaker Javier Manrique demonstrates the basic principles of printmaking in an interactive process and presents samples of his printmaking techniques.
