Follow along as I solo-hike the John Muir Trail southbound from Yosemite to Mt Whitney. Photos, Video, and Music tell my story over 21 days and 230 miles. Unique to my story is hiking through 2 High Sierra Camps instead of Tuolumne Meadows (been there, done that); two good friends bringing me a re-supply package at Kearsarge Lakes; and finally a bizarre ice storm on Mt Whitney on my final day. Enjoy. All music in this personal video was purchased on iTunes. Artists have been compensated, DRM unaltered, and is presented here in the spirit of Fair Use practices. A clip from High Sierra - A Journey on the John Muir Trail. Watch the whole film here... http://video.unctv.org/video/2312532075/ "The trail doesn't change people at all. The trail is the means by which transformation takes place. The trail itself doesn't draw attention to itself. It's what happens to you along the trail. So along the trail is where you encounter, early in the morning just as the sun is coming up, a mule deer that walks in front of you just 10 feet away and looks at you as if you're late, or why are you here, or what are we going to talk about now? The trail is what leads you to that point right around the bend where you see that last light of the sun, that alpenglow on some far off peak. And you're scrambling looking at your map trying to find out, what's the name of that peak? It's so beautiful! And of course at that point, that peak doesn't have a name, because the sun itself has made it nameless." -Shelton Johnson
