Kuala Lumpur: super-modern buildings juxtaposed with various cultural enclaves and with a little of Asia’s chaos thrown in. My time lapse explores how the city changes from day to night highlighting how spaces dramatically alter during the course of a few hours. As summarised by Marc Lourdes on Yahoo! Malaysia: “5 months. 400 hours of solid work. 4 cameras. 40 shoots. 640 gigabytes of data. 19,997 photographs.” http://my.news.yahoo.com/time-lapse-photographer-releases-stunning-video-of-kl.html Cameras / lens used, Nikon D800 Nikon D7000 x2 Nikon D3200 (Backup body) Nikon 16-35 f/4G AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor NIkon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED AF-S DX Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED AF-S VR II Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Special thanks to: Maybank for collaborating with Eco Knights to inspire sustainable living in Malaysia. This is my first week testing Fabric Engine's Splice for Maya and it seems to be working great. After checking out some of the tutorial workshops they provide I was ready to implement something myself. I chose to investigate the "Delta Mush" deformer as seen in the 'Voodoo' videos, 2nd video here: http://www.fxguide.com/featured/voodoo-magic/ The way I saw it the algorithm was a 2 step process: - Perform weighted discrete laplacian on the source mesh and store the deltas in tangent space. - Perform weighted discrete laplacian on the deformed mesh and apply the stored deltas in tangent space. Note that the skinning/deformation is by no means trying to represent an anatomically correct deformation. This way you can see the results from the Delta Mush much better. :) The biggest difference you'll see is that there's no more extreme stretching. REAL = FAKE = REAL "Dorothy" was initially a collaboration project called "Twisted Tales" between singer/songwriter Yunyu, manga artist Queenie Chan and theCommonist. The first released song was based on Dorothy who contemplates her fate as her magic shoes no longer work, therefore she is stuck in space. With the wonderful song by Yunyu, theCommonist wanted to try something more surreal, and came across a concept that, what if the 'space' we were told it's fake? Hence, we designed and made the naive cosmonaut to stuck in a 'man-made space', a space with fake planets and stars, like a planetarium. Real is Fake is Real, this paradox continues to inspire theCommonist in developing the lost cosmonaut story in our coming short film project called " The Planetarium ". ***** Dorothy Music Video Credits: Director: Darrel Chia Chee Sum Producer: Issarapa Suetrong CG Prod.
