1. Alumni leave $32 million estate gift

    An estate gift of $32 million — after giving $13 million during their lifetimes — from the late Charles and Mary Jane Spahr to benefit the KU School of Engineering was announced May 13, 2011 in the Spahr Engineering Classroom. Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little and Dean Stuart Bell spoke at the event, and students announced the large gift amount with a little help from Baby Jay.
