Alvina Krause (1893-1980) was the legendary acting teacher at Northwestern University from 1930 to 1963. In 1968, Krause conducted acting workshops with students from Yankton College and the University of South Dakota. These workshops were recorded on nine half-hour educational films, produced and distributed by Forward Productions. They were aired on South Dakota Public Television in 1970 as “Acting: A Study of Life.” In 2002, a broadcast copy of eight of the original nine films was located at the South Dakota Institute of American Indian Studies. The video quad format was transferred to digital format, with unavoidable video and audio distortions that occurred over time. Major excerpts from the eight films (editing out repeated or badly distorted material) were distributed on DVD by the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble as “Acting Lessons with Alvina Krause”. Part 3 of that DVD is uploaded here, covering more of Creating Shakespeare’s World, with a sidebar about Greek Tragedy. Scene work involves The Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth. Subsequently, the ninth film (Antigone) was located and is uploaded separately. Posted with permission. The students in the workshop were unidentified in the original source tapes. Are you one of them? If so, please contact communications@bte.org. For more information of Krause, visit www.bte.org, or www.krausenotes.blogspot.com.

http://www.facebook.com/titus http://instagram.com/titus http://www.titus.de/wuppertal Following the example of Titus Berlin, the guys in Wuppertal used the occasion of the renovation to build some ramps right into the shop. To celebrate the re-opening day, the Titus Münster shopriders Christian Krause, Robin Mentrup, Karsten Feyler and Flo Westers made the trip to Wuppertal to test out the brand new terrain firsthand alongside the local Titus Wuppertal shopriders Dominik Peters, Sascha Scharf, Sascha Ewest and Bernhard Neumann. Professional opinion: A+! Testurteil: Sehr gut! Öffnungszeiten: Mo-Fr: 11.00 - 19.00 Uhr Sa: 10.00 - 18.00 Uhr Adresse: Robertstr. 1 42107 Wuppertal Song: Natural Child - Dereks Blues Filmed by Hendrik Kaczmarek
