The Aurora Project is a free contemporary art exhibition centered in the rapidly developing Dallas Arts District. The project presents interactive new media artworks such as light, video, performance, and sound in exciting and unexpected public spaces. The Aurora Project offers a valuable opportunity for collaboration between hundreds of local, national, and international artists, for an inclusive artistic experience and community engagement. Aaron Wilson of AudioPixel presented ‘Arbor Borealis’, a three-dimensional grid of RGB LED spheres that presents an ever changing myriad of generative 3D graphics driven by environmental and user audio input. Patrons walked on the reflecting pool and seemed to take pleasure snapping pictures and exploring the spaces inside the piece.

            from Marcelo Boeira / Added

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Música é D.A.D. - Havanna Affair; --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Qualquer Dúvida/Dica ou Contato: contato@marceloboeira.com

Document of Squidsoup's installation, using the NOVA 3D LED grid from ETHZ/horao, at Bains Numeriques in Enghiens-les-Bains, Paris, June 2009. The piece was shown in the church of St Joseph. The piece explores the creative possibilities of using a form of reverse projection where imagery displayed on the 3D grid of LEDs, come into alignment from one specific viewpoint; from others it is an abstract flow of light. The piece combines live processed camera footage with imagery taken from within the church, to create an abstracted reflection of the church; an evocation of place. www.squidsoup.org www.nova.ethz.ch

600 RGB LED nodes create a cubic rectangle of addressable lights roughly 6' X 6' X 10'. This is a prototype for a modular and easy to deploy system of 3D light graphics. This design is based on hanging strands that are free to sway as one passes through them. Inspired by a cave I visited on the beach in New Zealand filled with little glow worms that dangle threads with beads of something sticky. These beads catch light emitted from the worms tail to catch insects. http://www.wettropics.gov.au/st/rainforest_explorer/Resources/Images/animals/Invertebrates/glowWorm.jpg Content: Early tests of the AudioPixel 3D particle rendering system included in the newest iteration of the software.
