Saturn Sky (2011) World Premiere Naugatuck Valley Community College, Waterbury, CT November 18, 2011 Choreography: Matthew Westerby Lighting: Mike Riggs Costume: Amanda Gavan, Alessandra Larson, Kristin Licata Music: Deru, Ben Frost, Lucine ISL Performers: Dylan Baker, Mandy Chan, Amanda Gavan, Alessandra Larson, Kristin Licata, Clement Mensah, Dina Sabb-Mills Saturn Sky imagines life in other environments and different atmospheres. With a fluidity and seamlessness in movement content, the piece explores weightlessness, exploring new realms and the identity of undiscovered colonies. "As planets shift and worlds divide We imagine dusty plains appearing Through parting clouds in an auburn sky Unexpected forms of harmonious life appear in corners once hidden  Creatures explore new terrains and protect identities centuries old We ask for scientific, metaphorical answers to explain away the existence beyond our understanding We stand, we watch and we wonder, and we look towards the Saturn Sky" -Matthew Westerby

"It's Always You" is the title cut from our upcoming CD "June Bisantz sings Chet Baker vol. 2". The CD features Alex Nakhiovsky - piano, Norman Johnson - guitar, Gabor Viragh - trumpet & flugelhorn, Matt Dwonsyk - bass, Ben Belillo - drums, Jaroslaw Lis - violin & viola, Katalin Viragh - violin and Eric Dahlin - cello. All songs have been recorded at Manor Recording in Middletown, CT, engineered and mastered by Norman Johnson. This is the first of what I hope will be several videos representing the music on this CD. It's been a joy working with these amazing musicians and wonderful to further explore the vocal music of the great Chet Baker. Our performance at the Litchfield Jazz Festival was the highlight of my musical year, and I'm very happy to be able to share a little bit of the experience with you through this video. I hope you enjoy it! For information about the release of "It's Always You" visit junebisantz.com.

Litchfield Performing Arts is celebrating twenty-eight seasons of service through the arts this year. Its undisputed centerpiece is The Litchfield Jazz Festival, a favorite of the public and critics alike. Over its 13 years, the festival has had the honor of presenting jazz titans---musicians like Jimmy Heath, James Moody, Dave Brubeck, Sonny Rollins, Slide Hampton, Wayne Shorter and Toots Thielemans. We were also blessed to have heard with you some of the field's finest players just before they passed away-Tommy Flanagan, Ray Charles, Thomas Chapin, Tito Puente, and Stanley Turrentine. And, we have had the thrill of discovering the stars of tomorrow- Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau, Lizz Wright and Jane Monheit, to name a few http://www.litchfieldjazzfest.com/
