Here is the (possible) final edit for the alternate cut of "Skid Row (Downtown)" for Little Shop: The Intended Fan Cut." I extracted the shots of the black man and woman from the work print and, because of an editing problem, sped both of then up to get a better sync. (Not by much. By just a few percentage points.)

        • Audrey's Cut "Nice Boys" Line (Final Edit)

For Little Shop: The Intended Cut, I decided to restore Audrey's cut line, "You don't meet nice boys when you live on Skid Row, Mr. Mushnik." After racking my brain, trying to figure out why it was labeled as a "deleted line in the work print," I remembered "IT'S IN THE TRAILER! IT'S IN THE TRAILER!" So I checked the trailer, and sure enough it was there. But, there was a catch as there always is. The trailer was cropped to a more cinematic aspect ratio. :-/ I took the video, did a rough edit (making sure I matched up the frames as accurately as I could and making sure the editing was soothe), took the audio, created a clean audio track using it as reference (made up of the final film audio and the audio from the work print), and synced a finished edit. Again, to create a better sync, a second or so of the trailer footage was speed up slightly. (You won't be able to spot it. It's Ellen saying "You don't meet", sped up something like .2%.) Also, I was forced to chop off the first second or so of Rick's entrance , since the trailer footage ended to quickly. At some point, I might go back in and fix it using using the final second of the work print footage to fix it, but I'm happy with it the way it is now.

          • Skid Row (Downtown) [ROUGH EDIT]

For "Little Shop: The Intended Fan Cut," I decided to edit in the alternate version of Skid Row that's in the work-print. How do I do that when the only video of it that's available to the public is shrunk into a comparison shot with the final film? I recreate it with the final film footage! For this rough edit, all I wanted to do was see how well it matches up. So, after I put together a hybrid audio, all I did was split up the shots up and put them in the right order. There's one shot I need to extract from the work-print, and a few small edits I have to make better, but this looks like it should be (relatively) easy.
