One Percent of American citizens nationwide volunteer to fight in the armed forces. On the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. that percentage is even lower, with a staggering 80 out of roughly 20,000 students enrolled in the Reserve Officers Training Corp (ROTC). These young men and women attempt to lead normal college lives while simultaneously preparing to lead soldiers on the front lines around the globe. Video and production by Luke Sharrett.
