Mark Sargent and Alexandra Meadors review many enlightening concepts regarding the flat earth theory and why it is important to challenge everything we have been taught from our first days in school. Find out how so many of the theories we have been taught can all be seriously questioned such as gravity, a spinning earth, and a far away sun and moon just to name a few. Even plane travel has been mysteriously manipulated to hide the true routes commercial airliners are taking to avoid the reality of earth's shape and size. Watch the series on "Flat Earth Clues" on Mark's channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/markksargent/featured Contact him at msargent23@comcast.net The views and opinions expressed herein are those of person(s) interviewed and do not necessarily reflect those of Alexandra Meadors and Galactic Connection.

"The Urban Fabric" is a public intervention in which people participate by marking significant places into a hand-embroidered map of their city. They mark both positive and negative places by sewing symbols into the map with thread. For example: "Where is the heart of the city?", "Where is a place that is positive for the community?", "Where is a place which needs changes?", "Where is an unsafe place?". Participants are also free to embroider personal images and words freely into the borders of the map. This project has taken place in Fez (Morocco), Quito (Ecuador), Bangalore (India), Barcelona (Spain), and in New York City (USA). artist website: www.lizkueneke.com The Urban Fabric on Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Urban-Fabric/172392776120653 Music in video: Artist: Jared C. Inimkond: Current Issues in Anthropology and Beyond Tallinn University May 22nd, 2013 The perception of space in life-stories and moral geographies Anu Printsmann Tallinn University, Estonia Abstract: Life-stories are full of historical turning points, personal events, significant individuals and omens, but also retrospective evaluations about everyday life and places. Memory as an unreliable source poses methodologically intriguing representation challenges, yet tells quite a lot about the perception of life, universe and everything. This presentation will touch upon space-related issues in life-stories: what is described, and how? For example, stories about childhood homes are almost never missed. This presentation focuses especially on moral judgements concerning the townscape of Kohtla-Järve – what is deemed good or bad, and why. It will illustrate that investigating life-stories gives a more mufti-faceted understanding of place perception and how it has developed over time, dependent on personal story amidst 'big' history. About the speaker: With degrees in geoinformatics, cartography and human geography from the University of Tartu, Anu Printsman is working as a researcher at the Centre for Landscape and Culture in the Estonian Institute of Humanities at Tallinn University. She has been involved in and widely published on landscape and heritage research in various parts of Estonia. Her current research focuses on the Oil-Shale mining areas in and around Kohtla-Järve in Northeast Estonia. About the seminar series: Inimkond: Current issues in anthropology and beyond fortnightly on Wednesdays, 18.00 – 20.00 This seminar series features speakers from anthropology and related fields, and fosters discussion of their research with a transdisciplinary audience. It aims to contribute to the culture of academic scholarship and debate at Tallinn University. Speakers include both local researchers and guests from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds and with various takes on anthropological theory and methods. Presentations in the seminar series will be of interest to staff and students in anthropology, cultural theory, sociology, and history, among others.
