Nicolas Hyacinthe's artistic representation of the current Civil Rights Movement; demanding accountability and justice for the brutality and dehumanization of racism also captures the movements reach to mobilize all citizens to seek the change needed. He realized this cerebral narrative by weaving together the photographs, video and ambient audio that he captured at the “Four Mile March” in Boston on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2015. www.nicolashyacinthe.com Thank You to all those who organized, participated and secured the march. It was Martin Luther King Jr. Day this day (MLK...the official birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.). Me and my folks had planned another outing to the city...specifically to San Francisco, CA! This time, we went and explored around Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. In this video in particular, it shows us see and enjoy a funny magic show that took place around the end of the pier, right behind the carousel ride. Our afternoon/evening around the pier in summary: We had arrived to the place around mid-afternoon. Being that it was Martin Luther King day, we expected more people. Surprisingly, it seemed like an ordinary afternoon. We first walked in and around Pier 39, then stopped by The Crêpe Café to get a nice snack. We got the strawberry one, topped with whipped cream (without the nutella chocolate). We then checked out a magic shop.... Afterwards, we went at the end of the pier to take in last minute views of the SF Bay at sunset, and of course to check out the sea lions, known as 'Sea Lebrities'. Then we went back into the pier and watched a magic show (right by the carousel). Our last stop was at the Crab House. We ate our dinner there. The food was delicious! I ordered the fish and chips of course! We got a nice seat as well, right by the window. Too bad it was night so we can't really see the seaside views. We then called it a night...after we got some mini donuts at Trish's Mini Donuts. Safe travels, everyone and happy MLK Day! More than 56 years ago, the great Martin Luther King Jr. brought his message of civil rights for all through nonviolent means to Columbus. During the annual celebration of Kings’ life and cause, Fort Benning met two women who were there the day king came to Columbus, and joined him in his work.
